We rarely buy the complete set of featured toy’s at McDonald’s.
This June 2017, the fastfood giant has the adorable Agnes and the Minions as toys in every Happy Meal since the sequel of Despicable Me will be shown in cinemas this month. We have seen the first two movies including its offshoot Minions movie. But, my son loves the first Despicable Me movie the most, as keeps on asking me to play it every single day.
When his Dad asked him which toy he wants from the selection of this month’s Happy Meal, he asked for the Agnes toy. His Dad, surprised, asked him again which toy he wants. Our boy just repeated his previous answered. The following night when his Dad came home from work and gave him his requested toy, he thanked me and his Dad before opening it. When it was out of the package, he looked at my preggy tummy, held out Agnes and said, “For baby!” I was touched by the thoughtfulness of my four-year old! He opted to get a toy first for his baby sister even when she wouldn’t actually see her big brother‘s gift yet until September. I was amazed and a bit surprised at his gesture. For four years of not having to share his Happy Meal toys (at least when playing at home), he suddenly thought of giving first to his sibling who is yet to be born, before having his own toy. I pray that he will continue to be generous to his sister and his sister would be the same to him as well as they grow up.
In the days the followed, my husband kept on having Happy Meals for lunch so he can bring home the Minions toys. Last Saturday when we went out, each of us ordered a Happy Meal for merienda just so we can get three Despicable Me 3 toys. Check out our first ever video about toys below.
Here are all the Despicable Me 3 Toys that we got from McDonald’s Happy Meals.
This post was made in collaboration with Tupperware Brands. All opinions stated are mine.
Growing up, our family has been using Tupperware products for our meal preparations, condiments, baon, picnic effects as well as a catch-all for our various thingamajigs. Up until I was in high school, I have seen how the Tupperware products have evolved – how the serving dish, canisters and foodkeepers and their colors have changed and how the brand has innovated to keep up with the changing needs of its market.
In 2007, Tupperware Philippines merged with Sara Lee Direct Selling Philippines and then became Fullerlife Direct Selling Philippines. The company is now known as Tupperware Brands Philippines with product categories including dishware; cookware; cleaning aids; bath and skin care for babies, kids and moms; cosmetics; personal care, and fragrances.
When Baby Care Plus+ presented an opportunity to our blogging community to try out their products, I signed up and was blessed to be chosen as part of the project.
I’ve been using a particular brand for my son’s bath and skin care ever since he was a year old. They’re working just fine but I’m curious as to the wonders that Baby Care Plus+ can do for my little boy.
The Tupperware Brands was so generous that they did not only sent us a set of Baby Care Plus+ products but they also shipped Kids Plus+ and Mom Plus+ items as well! The delivery box smelled so good when my son opened it. It was a mix of powdery and fruity scents and I was glad that the scent of the products weren’t too strong – perfect for someone like me who has allergic rhinitis, whose nose gets easily irritated with strong odors. My son was so happy with our package that he wanted to open all of the bottles right away. He even prayed, “God, thank you for the gifts!”
I decided to try out the Kids Plus+ set first since it was specifically made for children his age. I want to find out if these products can truly rid my son’s hair of that sweaty smell that he got from constantly jumping in bed and running around the house with his Dad chasing him. So for his quick night time bath, I enlisted the help of Kids Plus+ Shampoo and Kids Plus+ Bath. Both are in the form of clear, medium thick liquids and has that sweet and fruity scent in them. I used a pea sized amount for my son’s hair and it lathers quickly. I poured that same amount of the Kids Plus+ Bath and observed how far it would go. It bubbled as quickly as the shampoo but I was amazed that I was able to use it for my boy’s entire upper body! I wasn’t scrimping on the body wash. His neck and torso were effectively lathered up. I squeezed another pea sized for his lower limbs. The Kids Plus+ Bath produces a rich lather, that for a second, I thought it would be difficult to rinse. It’s a good thing that I was able to wash it off easily. My boy’s skin felt soft and smooth after his bath. I couldn’t stop smelling him, too! As indicated in its label, the Kids Plus+ Bath may be used for the hair and skin. Perfect for when we are travelling with our little one – I can grab just one bottle and we’re good to go.
After bathing, I gave him the bottles of Kids Plus Cologne and Kids Plus Lotion so he could try them on himself. He was so giddy as he squeezed on the cute penguin-shaped yellow and orange bottle of lotion. He put on a fruity dollop on his arm and asked permission to pour some more. The lotion has the right consistency – not too thick nor too watery. He moved on to his cologne and I told him to put some on his shoulders and chest. His Dad loved that scent and made our little boy more irresistible to cuddles.
The next day, I took out the Baby Care Plus+ Baby Shampoo and Baby Care Plus+ Baby Bath. Being the active boy that he is, his morning was spent jumping on the bed, running around and playing with all of his toys and stuff at home that are not meant for playing. He did all of these at the hottest time of the day. Naturally, he was drenched in sweat and he has what we fondly call “asim-kilig” smell. He was too excited to go to the bathroom when he found out that we have something new for his favorite ritual. Pouring a pea sized amount of the shampoo on my palm and gradually massaging it on my son’s wet hair, the sweet smell of powder filled our bathroom. My son loved that his hair was filled with bubbles. I then took the Baby Bath and got the same amount for my son’s face, neck and back and he smelled like a newborn baby again! I was able to produce a rich lather even with the little amount that I used to wash his entire body. It easily rinses off. I actually liked the scent of Baby Care Plus+ Shampoo and its partner Baby Bath over the Kids Plus+ Shampoo and its Bath counterpart. I seriously loved the Baby Care Plus+ Baby Bath that I used it for my own bath!
I love applying the Baby Care Plus+ Lotion on my son’s skin after his shower. It helps maintain his healthy and smooth skin and makes him smell good for longer hours. And because the Baby Care Plus+ Cologne has that sweet, powdery scent, I dab some on myself when we went to a wedding and I smelled fresh all day long
It’s a good thing that Tupperware Brands have the moms in mind when they created a line of skin care products. Being a mom, I feel blessed to be chosen by GOD to take care of one of His greatest creations. I find joy in serving and taking care of my son and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. But, I also feel tired and don’t have much time to pamper myself. That’s why I love using products that will allow me to take care and pamper myself without the need to go out of the house. The Mom Plus Ultra Moisturizing Bar indulges me on my precious bath time as it gently cleanses and deeply moisturize my skin making it softer and smoother. This Moisturizing Bar is actually meant for the body only but I am also using it for my face. We’re in Singapore as I type this. Double duty products save on luggage space! I didn’t develop rashes or or irritations on my face so I just keep on using it. That’s how gentle it is!
For our family vacation, I also brought with us the Mom Plus+ Soothing Relief Balm. My husband first used it for the insect bite that he had and thankfully, the Soothing Relief Balm was able to make that itch go away. I also used the balm when I experienced minor pain on my lower back and it was able to alleviate the pain.
I have yet to see the effectivity of the Mom Plus+ Stretch Mark Cream because I was not able to use it on a regular basis. I don’t have stretch marks but unfortunately, cellulites are showing. This Stretch Mark Cream promises to lessen stretch marks and cellulites. I will start using it when we get home and hopefully, it will help me get rid of the unappealing sight on my legs.
So, are we considering the Baby Care Plus+, Kids Plus+, and Mom Plus+ products for our own bath and skin care needs? Of course! These products of Tupperware Brands PH are definitely competitive in terms of efficacy, quality and price. Would you like to try them for you and your family, too? Hooray for my first unboxing post! I will strive to do more of these and file them under the Unboxed category. I plan to cover gadgets, toys, and other stuff.
For my first Unboxed post, I present to you the MyPhone my28S Android Smartphone Kit! You may have already heard about this from the commercials. If you haven’t, know more about it here.
We got our own MyPhone my28S a couple of days ago. My husband got one in my favorite color, blue. This dual SIM smartphone is also available in black, yellow, red and white. It comes with SMART prepaid and Talk ‘N Text SIM cards. Check out the photo below to know what’s inside the box.
Get a glimpse of the phone features on the side of the box. Not bad for a smartphone that costs Php888, right?
The phone comes with a slim and light battery pack, which was not loaded on the my28S upon purchase. I had a hard time opening the back cover of the phone. When I was finally able to open it, the SIM cards were already inserted in the card slots.
The curvy my28S looks chunky when laid on a surface, but it’s not.
See? Not bulky at all! You could easily fit it into your pocket and will not take too much space on your purse.
Below are the transitions of what the screen looked like when we turned it on. This smartphone is pre-loaded with Android-based apps including iflix and Spinnr.
The unit that we got was working fine at the onset but after a few minutes, the screen got a bit scratchy and blurry. We tried switching it off and on again but it looked the same. We brought it to the nearest Smart Wireless Center – my husband was told upon purchase that he can have it replaced at any branch. It’s too bad that no blue my28S was available at the branch so we have to wait until the store restocks. They do not allow replacements of a different color. We have yet to get an advice from the store as to when we can get the new unit. We hope to have it soon.
Overall, the MyPhone my28S is a great smartphone for less than Php1,000. It has a provision for two SIM cards, though the phone is locked to SMART and TNT. It is Android-based which makes it very easy to use. It has a decent form factor and large screen which makes reading and texting very convenient. Also, having a 5MP rear and 2MP front camera will allow you to take clear photos. Go check it out now at a Smart Wireless Center near you!
UPDATE: I was able to get a replacement for the defective unit. The store gave me a black MyPhone my28, the earlier but better version of this smartphone, instead of a blue my28S. I got a bit upset because of their inconsistent policy on replacements. A staff from that branch told my husband previously that they can only release a replacement of the exact unit. We were not given a lead time as to when it will be available. After four days, I decided to walk in the store and follow up. Another staff told me that they can replace our defective blue my28S with a black my28 on that day. This was already in stock when my husband requested for a new unit four days ago! They could have given it to him on that day but they didn’t. Anyway, I took home the black my28 phone and thankfully, it worked fine. Though, we notice something odd; the phone’s memory or one of the SIM cards had contact numbers from people we don’t know. Weird! My husband just deleted those numbers and reset the phone.
