Parenting is not for the faint-hearted. That’s what I have come to realize now that I’m a mom to a 5-year-old boy and a 5-month-old baby girl. I want to be a loving and nurturing mother to my little ones, but I also have to be firm and tough when it comes to instilling discipline.
Some days are not that good. Yesterday was one of those days.
I woke up feeling a bit grumpy. It intensified when our water supply was threatening to bail out on us, yet again.
My cheerful baby became fussy at mid-day. She would cry at the slightest sign of being laid (down) on the bed. She needs me and I couldn’t bear to see her cry so hard.
My adorable preschooler was messier than usual. Or maybe, because my day didn’t start out right, my tolerance for spills and clutter have decreased significantly. I yelled (not proud of it, by the way) and he muttered, “Sorry, Mommy.”
Two pre-teens – my nephew and my niece – were left under my care for the day. They are helpful (some of the chores and a bit of child care) but they can be a handful at times. Pre-teens and preschooler playing together. Fun, right? Well, not if they get so rough with each other and cause quite a ruckus disturbing an irritable baby! So, I yelled, yet again.
As the hours dragged on, I felt exhausted. It seemed like this bunch decided to conspire on me on a Monday and unleash their not-so-good mood and behavior.
By 9PM, I was feeling outnumbered with no sight of reinforcement. Like a soldier left in the midst of a battle. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but really, I felt so drained and helpless! Taking care of four kids is no mean feat!
The burden was gradually lifted when Hubs finally came home and my Mom and Sis picked up the older kids. My little ones and I settled in for the night while I tried to sneak in some work on my phone. Though, a glitch on a work app annoyed me and the stress monster popped out once more.
Hubs, who was having dinner at that time downstairs, told me that cold treats were on the way. I was surprised and thankful that finally, I get to have something sweet (thoughtfulness and treats) to cap the night off. While waiting for it, I snuggled with my firstborn reading about the upcoming appearance of the super blue blood moon. My baby was finally relaxed and sleeping soundly behind us. My little boy and I prayed together for what happened the whole. I prayed that GOD will give us grace and guidance each day, and that we will always remember how blessed we are.
Hoping and praying for happier and better days ahead!
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

This blog post is sponsored by tiny Buds. All opinions stated are mine.
tiny Buds has just released their baby clothing line which they aptly labeled as the tiny Buds Organics Collection. This collection is lovingly made from 100% organic cotton which makes it safe for baby’s delicate skin. Being organic, the manufacturing of this garment has a lesser impact on our environment.
I first got to know the tiny Buds brand when I gave birth to my firstborn. Part of the hospital’s goodie bag is the tiny Buds Rice Baby Powder. It’s a non-talc powder that is safe for babies. Then when he got older and started having a few teeth, I switched him to the Tiny Fangs Tooth Gel after using another brand. He liked it better for its Tuition Fruit flavor and as I have observed, it works better than the previous brand. Now that he is four years old, he’s using the Tiny Fangs Kiddie Toothpaste which is low in mint, low foam, Paraben-free and Fluoride-free.
That’s my adorable three-month old daughter! 👆 Our bunso 🙂 She greets me with a cheerful smile each morning, giving me a good start for the day. In that photo, she’s wearing the tiny Buds Organics personalised onesie, pajama bottoms, mittens, and booties. She was also wearing the cute beanie before that picture was taken.
In that next photo above, my baby wore the tiny Buds Organics short sleeves kimono top with her navy blue and white polka dot leggings. I love that with its beige color, every piece from her tiny Buds Organics set can be paired with any of the clothes that she already has!
Check out my Instagram post below for a closer look at the tiny Buds Organics Collection. We got the Short Set, the Organic 3-pc. Newborn Set, and the Organic Binder.
Tiny Buds just got a new product line that mommies and babies will surely love – the tiny Buds organics Collection! Thank you so much @tinybudsbaby for this lovely gift for our Baby Gabrielle Can’t wait to share about it on my blog 🙂 #tinybudsbaby #tinybudsorganics #organiccotton #babiesclothes #momblogger #lifewithababy #blessingsandbeyond @mommybloggersphilippines

After I have inspected every piece in the collection and had my baby tried them, here’s a list of what I love about the tiny Buds Organics Collection:
Made from organic cotton
New and unwashed fiber does not have any smell at all. It is also soft to touch – definitely comfy and safe for my baby’s delicate skin.
Printed size on the inside
When shopping, it’s easier to see the size on the inside part of the garment because of its large print. Size is printed on the garment itself and not on a tag. Inner tags almost always cause an irritation on baby’s sensitive skin.
Tiny brand tags
They do have brand tags attached on the beanie, booties and short sleeve kimono top but they’re tiny and on the outside so they won’t be a bother to baby’s skin.
As I have mentioned earlier, every piece from the collection is in one color: Beige. It is very suitable for babies of both genders. Perfect as gifts for when you don’t know the gender of the little one yet.
Personalized onesie print
tiny Buds will customise your baby’s onesie by adding your wee one’s name after their brand signature, tiny. We got ours with tiny Gabrielle on it. I soaked my baby girl’s collection on tiny Buds Newborn Laundry Wash (no less!) and haven’t rinsed it until the second day. My hubs freaked out because he got worried that the print would fall off. But it didn’t! 🙂
I was so glad that the short sleeve kimono top has stitched ties! With all the tie-side tops that I bought for my babies, I had to loop each tie on its ends because they tend to run easily and cause tangles in the laundry.
tiny Buds Organics’ pair of mittens are garterised which ensures that baby’s mittens won’t fall off. The majority of the mittens that we have have ties and I have to do a double loop when I put them onto baby’s hands. Most of the time, especially when we are out and about, one of the mittens gets loosened and would fall on the floor. My son would quickly pick up his baby sister’s mitten and give it to me. My baby would either end up using a spare in a color that is different from what she is already wearing on the other hand, or her other hand would just go bare. These never happens whenever she’s using the mittens from tiny Buds!
The pair of booties don’t have ties as well. It has a wide band on top that keeps booties in place. At the bottom of each is a structured but soft fabric in the shape of baby’s feet which make it look like shoes.
The Organic Binder (in the photo above) has non-irritating adhesives. One side has round tips that adhere to the other flap firmly. These round tips wouldn’t hurt baby’s skin, if ever the binder gets detached.
All of the pieces that we got from the tiny Buds Organics Collection are fit for babies 0-3 months of age. They all fit nicely to my 3-month-old baby girl.
Get a set for your own little one at www.tinybudsbaby.com! I love that tiny Buds has their own shopping website. Online shopping with reliable delivery and superb customer service is really helpful for busy moms like me 🙂

This is my son’s Christmas craft. It was originally part of an activity at last Sunday’s Kids Church. As part of our crafting at home, I asked him to put googly eyes, add cotton on its wings and paint the angel. I only taught him how to glue the cotton balls then he did the rest.
The output wasn’t perfect but I’m posting a photo of it here. He made an effort to do it and smiled proudly when he showed it to me. I commended him for his work. I have added the angel as an ornament on our Christmas tree.
I used to get stressed when he can’t color or paint properly. Lately, I have realized that the mess, the smudge, using an unusual hue are all part of the learning process. They, in fact, contribute to my child’s emerging creativity. I wouldn’t stifle that!
Will share more of my son’s (and later on, my daughter’s) artworks here 🙂
We are so blessed to spend the holiday last November 30 at Enchanted Kingdom and join OPPO F5‘s celebration of National Selfie Day! We get to enjoy the whole event as a family (plus my niece). The OPPO and SparkIT teams got everything covered – an all-access pass to EK’s rides; a short program; and even a mini-concert for everyone to enjoy. With all of these, everyone definitely got selfie-worthy pics!
When I became a mom, I make it a point to make fun-filled and pleasant memories for my family. What better way to immortalize our day at the magical and well-loved theme park here in the South than to take plenty of photos, especially selfies so that each one of us is in every picture. It was my firstborn’s third time at the park, and now that he’s four years old, he was able to enjoy more of the rides. My husband, being more on the adventurous side, wanted to take our boy for a ride on the Jungle Log Jam. I vehemently opposed as there is a great possibility that our little boy will get scared mid-ride and cause him great distress. Very unsafe! Anyway, EK would be around for some time and he will get to try out such thrill-filled rides when he’s old enough.
Since our baby girl is too young (she’s only two months old) to partake in the park’s attractions, she and I spent most of the time inside the Eldar’s Tent, which served as a holding area for the event’s participants. But I still had the chance to jump in the Bump ‘N Splash with my son and my niece and had fun driving in circles and squirting water on strangers. Thanks to my hubs for taking care of our baby for a while. Back at the tent, I was able to get a closer look at the sleek, red, OPPO F5 6GB and prayed hard to be one of the 10 winners of that day’s giveaway. Sadly, I wasn’t. Check out the press release below to get a glimpse of the National Selfie Day’s highlights and for OPPO F5’s specs – to find out why I was heartbroken that I didn’t win that night. But, I’m okay now. I have already moved on 😀

OPPO was also the first brand to introduce the motorized rotating camera, the Ultra HD feature and the 5x Dual Camera Zoom technology. OPPO’s Selfie Expert F series launched in 2016 drove a selfie trend in the smartphone industry.

My husband and I initially planned to leave early but we end up staying until evening as he, our son, and my niece enjoy EK’s attractions as much as they can. During that time, our baby and I got comfy at the tent while watching the concert from afar and waiting for the announcement of winners.
We were all tired that day but happy that we got to have an awesome time at the Enchanted Kingdom for OPPO’s National Selfie Day! Many thanks again, OPPO 🙂
Want to have this limited edition of OPPO F5 for Christmas? Go and check out the stores tomorrow, December 9, and see for yourself how OPPO, the Selfie Expert, can capture the real you!
I’m 37 weeks pregnant this week and pretty soon, we will be welcoming Baby #2.
This last trimester is very crucial. I was told to go on bed rest because my doctor discovered from my ultrasound that my baby is on the lighter side. She asked me if I have been eating as I should be. I said yes and even told her that I have a big appetite. She then asked me about my physical activities and that’s when she found out that I’ve been moving a lot, thus making myself exhausted in the process. Going on bed rest was not easy for me. I need to be on my toes for my firstborn, and there are chores and errands that I must do. I kept reminding myself self that I need to follow my OB’s advice for the well-being of my baby. To ensure that my baby will gain weight, the doc changed my multivitamins, in addition to having bed rest. By God’s grace, in a few weeks, my baby is in a healthy weight. I felt well rested too and the panting that I used to feel has decreased.
I told my husband that I feel like I am getting married again. I have a ton on my to-do list and I am looking for a new house – the same thing that I did back when we were about to tie the knot.
We were supposed to move into a boungalow house (one that is ideal for our family) last July but it didn’t push through. We felt sad about that it but trust that it was God’s way of protecting us. He has a better plan. As of this time, I’m still looking for a house that we can move into. I’ve been praying that we don’t settle for anything else and make impulse decisions.
As for my to-do list, I’m happy that we have accomplished a lot of things already. I am almost finished with packing our hospital bag. It’s actually a carry-on luggage so it would be convenient for my husband to lug it around when we rush to the hospital in time for the big day. I have also packed my son’s backpack – just so we can leave him at my parents’ house, depending on which time I would go on labor. We bought a new stroller, more stuff for our new baby (mostly consumables), and a stock of food and grocery items that would tide us in the first month. We have de-cluttered, packed away things that we don’t use often, and cleaned a greater portion of our apartment thoroughly. My husband has also cleaned up and set up our firstborn’s crib yesterday. Upon seeing it, our soon-to-be Kuya wanted to jump inside. Maybe he wanted to feel what it’s like to be a little baby again 🙂
I’m praying that everything will be alright as I deliver our bunso into this world. I’m also asking God for guidance, wisdom, grace, patience and strength as my family enter into a new season in our lives.
We have been wanting to fly a kite and thought that our little boy would enjoy it. My husband bought a ready-made kite at Landmark Makati last Tuesday for for only Php99. It was a big one that has an airplane printed on it. Our son wanted to add googly eyes to it and call it a Pteranodon. He is fond of anything related to dinosaurs.
As the days go by, our little Kuya gets giddy as Saturday approaches. We promised him that we will find an open space to fly our kite on the weekend. It’s been raining since Wednesday and typhoon Gorio hit the country on Thursday. It’s been raining and a bit windy in our city almost the whole day of Friday. Saturday morning looked promising to me – it isn’t that sunny but it isn’t raining either. But, by the time my son woke up, around 12nn (we let him sleep in on weekends), it rained! We then told him that we cannot go outside. He suggested that we use an umbrella. I told him that we can’t fly a kite holding an umbrella. He must have prayed really hard because while we were starting on our morning routine, the rain stopped and the sun shone. My husband then prompted us to seize that opportunity so we all got ready to leave for the nearby Sports Center, which has an open field that is perfect for flying a kite. It was a good time for us because the field was nearly empty. People usually flock to that area very early in the morning to exercise, bike, and do picnics. They leave when the sun begins to shine at its hottest.
My husband quickly prepped the kite and the excitement began to build up. I was so thrilled to have my son experience flying a kite as I have never did it during my childhood. As much as I would like to be the one to run and tug the string, being 7 months, I opted to be the one to propel the kite into the air. In no time, the kite was up in the air and my husband maneuvered it so it would get higher and higher. Our son was so happy to see our kite up in the air. I asked him to tug the string for him to fully experience it. At first, he was scared to do so. Maybe because he remembered from his book, Curious George – The Kite, when the monkey was blown away with the kite. I assured him that it wouldn’t happen to him as he is heavier than George.
As the kite was already cruising up in the air, his Dad gradually put the string holder in his little hand. Our little boy tugged the string and ran a bit towards our direction. He was not scared anymore and I could tell that he enjoyed it. I tried flying our awesome kite and loved it. Too bad, the kite got tangled on the branches of a very tall tree and the string got cut off. It was beginning to be windy and we hoped for our kite to fall on the ground; sadly it didn’t. We just told our boy that we will buy another one that we can use on Sunday.
We bought a smaller Spiderman kite at Japan Home for Php66. We’ll see how it fares compared to our airplane kite.
It was both a blessing and a privilege to be chosen to participate in Viviene Bigornia’s e-course titled The Roadmap to a Fulfilled Life: Living the Life God Designed You to Have. What made me decide to take this course is my desire to live a fulfilled life. It may sound cheesy to some, but at my age (I’m 36), I believe it’s never too late to make my dreams come true.
I first met Viv from the South Homeschoolers Meetup, a small gathering of homeschoolers and parents who plan to homeschool. I didn’t know much about her so before the e-course formally started, I checked out Viv’ s profile from her website, www.fulfilledwomen.com. I have discovered that she is one brave woman who was able to surpass the challenges that she encountered in her motherhood and career life, and she credits it all to her renewed relationship with GOD.
I like the format of this e-course. It is divided into four segments, where each part has a video presentation and corresponding worksheets that participants have to answer after each segment. Viv also had FB Live sessions twice for the duration of the course where participants were encouraged to comment and share their thoughts. The videos have truly inspired me and the worksheets helped me to do a self-assessment and motivated me to act on what God has called me to do. I also loved that Viv used verses from the Bible to demonstrate how God is at work in our lives and that He truly wants us to live the life that He designed for each of us.
By going through The Roadmap to a Fulfilled Life, I was able to figure out a lot of things.
- The first segment of the Fulfilled Life reminded me of the things that I already know but, as I have discovered, was not being intentional about it. This session has encouraged me to be more intentional in having a relationship with our Maker and constantly look to Him as my source of inspiration and motivation to fulfill my personal calling.
- When I got to the second segment of the e-course, I read the part where Viv said that God is economical; He will not let any experience go to waste. At that moment, I felt enligthened and relieved to know that God is indeed with me all along and that He allowed me to take on those projects and encounter difficult people to increase my work knowldege, improve my skills, and toughen up when facing challenging situations. I was really amazed and thankful thereafter 🙂
- The third segment of the e-course helped me identify the excuses that I have in chasing my dreams. My first excuse is that I feel that I can never be as good as other people. My next excuse is that chores and child care can wear me down on some days. It doesn’t help that I’m the sleepy type and would always rely on coffee to be more alert and focused. Can’t do that now because I’m pregnant. Oh excuses, excuses! I’m working on pushing myself to do what needs to be accomplished by remembering what I’ve learned from this part of the Fulfilled Life and by pondering on the Bible verses about diligence. Praying to be better soonest 🙂
- The last segment of the e-course has enabled me to do a reality check. I am taking baby steps and praying a lot as I press on to live a fulfilled life that GOD has designed for me.
Thanks a lot Viv for creating The Roadmap to a Fulfilled Life: Living the Life God Designed You to Have e-course. This has served as a wake-up call for me and prompted me to really take action and work on fulfilling my personal calling. May the Lord bless you more so you can help out more women ☺
We rarely buy the complete set of featured toy’s at McDonald’s.
This June 2017, the fastfood giant has the adorable Agnes and the Minions as toys in every Happy Meal since the sequel of Despicable Me will be shown in cinemas this month. We have seen the first two movies including its offshoot Minions movie. But, my son loves the first Despicable Me movie the most, as keeps on asking me to play it every single day.
When his Dad asked him which toy he wants from the selection of this month’s Happy Meal, he asked for the Agnes toy. His Dad, surprised, asked him again which toy he wants. Our boy just repeated his previous answered. The following night when his Dad came home from work and gave him his requested toy, he thanked me and his Dad before opening it. When it was out of the package, he looked at my preggy tummy, held out Agnes and said, “For baby!” I was touched by the thoughtfulness of my four-year old! He opted to get a toy first for his baby sister even when she wouldn’t actually see her big brother‘s gift yet until September. I was amazed and a bit surprised at his gesture. For four years of not having to share his Happy Meal toys (at least when playing at home), he suddenly thought of giving first to his sibling who is yet to be born, before having his own toy. I pray that he will continue to be generous to his sister and his sister would be the same to him as well as they grow up.
In the days the followed, my husband kept on having Happy Meals for lunch so he can bring home the Minions toys. Last Saturday when we went out, each of us ordered a Happy Meal for merienda just so we can get three Despicable Me 3 toys. Check out our first ever video about toys below.
Here are all the Despicable Me 3 Toys that we got from McDonald’s Happy Meals.
A couple of hours before, I consumed orange juice and had a chocolate chip cookie smoothie in the hopes of waking up the baby in time for the ultrasound. None of these tips worked as the baby seem to be sound asleep inside my womb. But, GOD knows what we need when we need it.
When we all entered the ultrasound room in time for the congenital anomaly scan (CAS), my firstborn got so excited and giddy because we are going to see baby on screen again. We have confirmed that the baby is indeed asleep as there was no movement, but the OB-Sono was able to identify and measure some of baby’s body parts. As she tells us which part of baby is being shown on screen, my little boy was in awe and got all the more excited and kept saying “That’s baby baby!” The doctor ran her instrument on the part of baby’s legs and we all found out that we are having a baby girl. I told my son who was standing next to my bed, “You have a baby sister!” He then happily repeated, “Baby sister!”
Our baby finally woke up, probably because she heard her big brother‘s voice that was full of excitement even if he was just seeing her in black and white from the machine’s monitor. She might have sensed her Kuya’s happiness to see her from a vision of Mommy’s womb. Our baby girl positioned herself to show her face, as if to say Hi to us, and her whole body, which made us sure that she is indeed a girl. She opened and closed one of her hands while facing us (or the instrument of the machine, at least) and with one hand, held one of her feet for a time.
At the end of the scan, the doctor reported that our baby girl is in good health and has complete body parts and organs. When we were all by ourselves, my husband and I, together with our firstborn, thanked GOD for keeping our baby in excellent health, growth and development. We thanked Him for my good health as well. We continue to pray for a healthy and normal delivery (I was CS on my first) and baby’s overall good health.
Soon we’ll be a family of four 🙂 I know that it would be challenging to be a mom to two kids under four (a preschooler and a newborn) but I feel so blessed to be chosen by GOD to be the mother of these precious little ones.
