Hello 2016! This is my first post for the new year. You would notice that this story is a tad too late. Yes, it is. Our December came by in a frantic frenzy as it was filled with happy, not-so-happy, and crazy moments. I will share all of them in the next posts. Meanwhile, here’s one of the gatherings that made my December more memorable.
The Mommy Bloggers Philippines (MBP) had its second Christmas Party on December 5, 2015 at The Linden Suites in Ortigas Center Pasig City. The event was aptly themed as A Christmas to Remember. It was indeed a Christmas party worth remembering for me because I was privileged to have helped out in the preparations and logistics. Being part of the preparations entailed a lot of work – before, during and after the event, but I didn’t mind because I really enjoy working behind the scenes and I am more than glad to do so for an organization that is dear to me. I am blessed to have a husband who supports me in this endeavor as he agreed to picked up the package from one of the sponsors during his lunch break and took it home on a bus. On the day of the party, he also willingly waited for me and spent time bonding with our little boy at Megamall.
The MBP red and gold themed Christmas tea party was well attended by 40 mommies from our blogging community. I love the getting-to-know-you session where each blogger stood up to introduce herself, told the rest of us how she stumbled upon MBP, and shared her blogging journey. Attendees are composed of working moms, SAHMs (stay-at-home-moms), and WAHMs (work-at-home-moms). I have found out that though we have different backgrounds, we all have a common denominator – we have found refuge in blogging. Some do it for fun and turned it into a hobby. There are those who have found blogging therapeutic as it helped them go through challenges in their personal lives. We all agreed that joining the MBP community has enriched our blogging journey. The beauty of having a community such as the MBP is that we are able to connect with each other, most of the time online, and share experiences, tips, and extend support to one another’s blogs.
The 2015 MBP Christmas party overflowed with blessings from our generous sponsors. I will never forget the smiles on the faces of mommy bloggers as they receive their goodie bags and won in the party’s raffle contests. They looked like they were overflowing with joy! Sending out a huge Thank You to our sponsors 🙂
